<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING <br />October 31, 1955 <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called for October 31, 1955 for the purpose <br />of considering a man to fill a vacancy cased by the resignation of Marshall Oliver Michean. <br /> <br />All members were present. <br /> <br />The Council decided to offer the position to Ernest Nelson at a salary of $300.00 per month plus <br />$50.00 a month for car expense. <br /> <br />The case of Oliver De Mars who askes the village to pay for glasses for his son whose eyesight is <br />such that he is unable to go to school. After some discussion, a motion was made by Meyer and <br />seconded by Dow to reject the claim for glasses for the reason that there appears to be evidence of <br />neglect on the part of the parents. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Council recommended that the case be referred to the County Welfare Board for investigation. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />H.A.
