<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 12, 1954 <br /> <br />A special meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Oct 12, 1954 for the purpose of making the <br />tax levy for 1955 and considering the building of a garage for the use of the village and the Power <br />and Light Commission. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Edward Schwartz, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. <br />Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />Levy for 1955 <br />General Fund 20 mills <br />R&B Fund 15 mills <br />Poor Fund 500.00 <br />Library Fund 1800.00 <br />Music Fund 1 mill <br />Firemen’s Relief Fund .1 mill <br /> <br />The business of building a garage was discussed. H.W. Fridlund Architect was present at the meeting <br />and gave the Council information and advice about the garage. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Dow to engage Mr. Fridlund to prepare tentative <br />plans for the construction of the building. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />H.A.
