<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />September 7, 1954 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Sept 7, 1954. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Edward Schwartz, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. <br />Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Schwartz. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Roy DeMars was present and asked if there could be more adequate fire protection in his part of <br />town also said that the street past his place is obstructed so that it can’t be used. The matter will be <br />investigated. <br /> <br />Kendall Vasser met with the Council regarding some assistance for his mother. He was asked to find <br />out from the county welfare board what they would allow per month as old age assistance. <br /> <br />The matter of fluoridation of water was brought up again, Dr. Roehlke, Dr. McNair and Albert <br />Bailey discussed it with the council. Water Supt Richard Halter also was asked about it.
