City of Elk Special Meeting of the Elk River River Economic Development Authority Together Elk River Subcommittee Held at City Hall Monday, August 17, 2020 Members Present: Jennifer Wagner,Katie Jenison, Economic Development Director, Amanda Othoudt, Economic Development Specialist, Colleen Eddy and Communications Director Kaylin Clement Members Absent: Charlie Blesener and Debbi Rydberg Others Present: None 1. Call Meeting to Order/Roll Call Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Economic • Development Authority Together Elk River Sub-Committee was called to order at 9:01 a.m. by Jennifer Wagner. 2. Consent Agenda Motion by Kaylin and seconded by Katie to approve the August 10, 2020 Meeting Minutes. Motion carried 5-0. 3. Together Elk River Marketing Campaign- TER Week: The week is August 23 -29t. Kaylin reported that the Google ads and Facebook ads go live today. Over 10 coloring pages have been turned in at the Farmers Market. The chamber will facilitate the Chamber Bucks Giveaway on their site as the city cannot do this. A second article ran in the Star News to promote Spirit Week. Marketing: The group discussed there is a need to order at least 50 more yard signs as requests keep corning in. Staff will present this request for more funds at tonight's EDA meeting.Jennifer worked with R&D Sales on the face gaiters and should have a mock-up at tonight's EDA meeting.The face gaiters will a giveaway. Banners: At public works ready to be installed. Future/Next goals:Jennifer suggested coordinating a meeting with key stakeholders to get their buy-in and vision for this campaign moving forward. The question would be—how can the Together Elk River Campaign help you and the community?The group will discuss this in more detail at the next meeting.
