<br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 88-22 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORATION <br />ASSISTANCE FOR UPGRADING MINNESOTA HIGHWAY 101 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River in conjunction with local units <br />of government and civic organizations that are affected <br />by the transporation patterns of Highway 101, have <br />formed a Select Highway 101 Committee in effort to <br />improve the transporation pattern and safety conditions <br />of Highway 1011 and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River has been chosen as the lead <br />agency for this committee and spearheading its efforts <br />toward improving Highway 1011 and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Select Highway 101 Committee has determined that <br />the most significant change in Highway 101 that would <br />improve the traffic and safety conditions would be the <br />upgrading of Highway 101 from a two-lane transporation <br />route to a four-lane highwaY1 and, <br /> <br />~ WHEREAS, the Select Highway 101 Committee readily acknowledges <br />the need for expert advice and assistance from the <br />Minnesota Department of Transporation in order to <br />realize their goal of improving Highway 101. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Elk River that as the lead agency for the Select <br />Highway 101 Committee, the City is hereby requesting <br />advice and assistance from the Minnesota Department of <br />Transporation in its efforts to have Highway 101 <br />upgraded from a two-lane transporation route to a four- <br />lane highway. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River <br />this 28th day of March, 1988. <br /> <br />C -1zill ;-;w 41 -Jl <br />Estelle E.
