UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU CommissionJennie Nelson – Customer Service Manager <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />September 8, 2020 6.1d <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> As mentioned verbally during the August meeting, the City of Otsego is still pursuing <br />having ERMU bill franchise fees on their behalf. Staff will be working with National <br />Information Solutions Cooperativeand the City of Otsego’s attorney to facilitate this <br />service, which is scheduled to beginJanuary 2021. <br /> <br />The construction industry is booming! There have been many new services to setup in <br />the billing system. Our customer service representatives do a fantastic job keeping track <br />of all the paperwork and contractor’s contact information. <br /> Our Credit and Collections Specialist has been working hard all summer holding <br />customers accountable to making payments while exhibiting grace during tough <br />financial circumstances. We performed very few disconnects in August. <br /> Hybrid school schedules have created scheduling challenges within our department. We <br />have purchased some equipment to allow staff to work remotely on a rotating schedule. <br />Many hours have been spent on research and implementation of software to facilitate <br />this change.
