<br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River understands <br />potential from nonconforming septic <br />waterways; and, <br /> <br />the pollution <br />systems to <br /> <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 91 - ~ <br />RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />DECLARING THE CITY'S INTENT TO REQUIRE NONCONFORMING <br />SEPTIC SYSTEMS TO BE UPGRADED IN THE SHORE LAND DISTRICT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is mandated by the State to <br />implement a program to eliminate nonconforming septic <br />systems from the Shore land District; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River desires to eliminate this source <br />of contamination. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br />of Elk River, that the City will check the conformity of septic <br />systems at time of building permit issuance or zoning approval <br />and make upgrading of septic systems mandatory to approval of <br />those permits. The City will also immediately deal with <br />nonconforming septic systems when they are reported or other <br />problems arise associated with them.
