<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 6, 1953 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on July 6, 1953. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> E.A. Parent, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, <br />Clerk <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parent. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Al Steinhart asked about getting city water at his place. He was unable to get enough signers on his <br />petition. Nothing further was done for the present. <br /> <br />Joe Schwab and Wm Anderson complained about drainage on their property. The Council agreed to <br />look the situation over. <br /> <br />Dick Halter and Wm Patenaude Jr. of the Elk River Utilities were present at the meeting. There was <br />a discussion in regard to the suggestion that the village hall might be used for both the utilities and <br />the council and library. The council agreed to give this matter consideration. <br /> <br />Fire Chief, Harry Dreissig, reported that the Fire Department will need some more fire hose soon. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br />August Leider – labor May 171.71 <br />August Leider – labor June 181.90 <br />Harold E.
