<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 3, 1950 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on July 3, 1950. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> R. A. Ellingson, Mayor; Emil Parent, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs <br /> <br />The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Mrs. Leslie Leighton and Grace Olson were presented and asked about the need of oiling the street <br />between Olsons and Leightons. The council agreed to give this matter consideration. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Ryding to authorize transfer of $3000.00 from the <br />Liquor Fund to the General Fund to Sewer Construction Fund. Carried. <br /> <br />For the reason that there have been some complaints regarding a junk yard belonging to Frank <br />Belanger. A motion was made by Parent and seconded by Ryding to order the junk cars removed. <br />The motion carried and the clerk was instructed to notify Frank Belanger of the action of the <br />council. <br /> <br />Jack Hettrick appeared and asked if the Council would authorize the Fire Department to have one <br />of the members clean up the fire house once every few weeks. Hettrick also asked for one dozen <br />rain coats for the fire department. The Council approved both requests. <br /> <br />Mr. Wm McGregor of Dayton a public accountant was present at the meeting and there was some <br />discussion in regard to possible work for the village. He said he would talk to the Liquor Store <br />manager in regard to a proposition for a different arrangement. <br /> <br />Earl Hettrick, manager of the Liquor Store, gave a verbal report of the progress of the Liquor Store <br />for the past month. <br /> <br />The following building permits were approved: <br />Lucious Blocker <br />Carl A Lund <br />O.M. Barsness <br />Lester Roster <br />M.K. Cliff <br />Flora Martin <br />Bailey Feed Co. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br /> <br />Kemper Drug – mdse 5.21 <br />Roehlke and Tesch – Ted Mickelson case 30.00 <br />Leger Truck Line freight – 1.39 <br />Minn Fire Equp Co – hose fire dept 97.50 <br /> <br />
