<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 5, 1949 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Dec 5, 1949. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Oscar Odegard, Mayor; Emil Parent, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A. <br />Briggs <br /> <br />The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Leslie Matz appeared and presented his bill for the 1949 assessing. The bill was approved for <br />$450.00 and the clerk was instructed to issue a warrant for that amount. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Briggs to appoint the following on the village library <br />board: <br />Mrs. John Wagner <br />Mrs. Maud Spaulding <br />Mrs. Ben Roper <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />A committee composed of Oscar Swanson, Frank Belanger and H. Anderson met with the Council <br />in regard to the sewer extension which was discussed at the last council meeting. <br /> <br />The Council agreed to take this matter up in the spring. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Ellingson and seconded Parent to approve a transfer on Nov 2, 1949 of <br />$1500.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Construction Fund. Carried. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br />Leslie Matz – assessing 45.00 <br />Ted Mickelson – street work 59.15 <br />Coast to Coast Store – mdse 10.46 <br />Dick Wombill – street work 7.80 <br />N.W. Bell Telephone Co – Nov 9.10 <br />Elk River Utilities – hydrant rent 52.00 <br />Bank of Elk River – 4-$1000 sewer registered warrants and interest 4315.00 <br />Charles M Nelson – extra police 7.00 <br />Zella M Page – janitor service 7.00 <br />Zella M Page – library books 32.01 <br />E.R. Utilities – lights – Nov 415.70 <br />Farm Bureau – fuel for Hall 30.24 <br />Fire Dept – services 24.00 <br />Fire Dept – services 75.00 <br />Texaco Service Station – gas for truck 19.53 <br />E.R. Machine Shop – repairs fire dept 8.00 <br />Jones and Kroeger – blanks for clerk 3.69 <br /> <br />
