<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 30, 1946 <br /> <br />A special meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on December 30, 1946. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Mayor Davidson, V.B. Skellenger, Elmer Leger; H.A. Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />Representatives of Park Shaughnessy Finance Co and also of Blythe and Co Bond houses were <br />present and discussed the sale of bonds for diesel engines. <br /> <br />Mr. Shaughnessy asked for an option to purchase the bonds at 2% interest, the company to assume <br />all legal fees and cost of printing, the option to expire at 8 P.M. Jan 6, 1947. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Skellenger and second by Leger the option was granted. <br /> <br />D.P. Christian asked permission to move his diner to north Park Addition and presented a petition <br />signed by a number of citizens in that neighborhood. In view of the fact that there seemed to be no <br />objection on the part of those concerned a motion was made by Leger and seconded by Briggs that <br />D.P. Christian’s application for moving building be re-considered and the permit granted. The vote <br />was: Leger-yes, Briggs – yes, Skellenger – No. The motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made to authorize the clerk to transfer $1000.00 from the Road and Bridge Fund to <br />the General Fund.
