VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
December 30, 1946

A special meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on December 30, 1946.

Members present:
Mayor Davidson, V.B. Skellenger, Elmer Leger; H.A. Briggs, Clerk

Representatives of Park Shaughnessy Finance Co and also of Blythe and Co Bond houses were
present and discussed the sale of bonds for diesel engines.

Mr. Shaughnessy asked for an option to purchase the bonds at 2% interest, the company to assume
all legal fees and cost of printing, the option to expire at 8 P.M. Jan 6, 1947.

Upon motion by Skellenger and second by Leger the option was granted.

D.P. Christian asked permission to move his diner to north Park Addition and presented a petition
signed by a number of citizens in that neighborhood. In view of the fact that there seemed to be no
objection on the part of those concerned a motion was made by Leger and seconded by Briggs that
D.P. Christian’s application for moving building be re-considered and the permit granted. The vote
was: Leger-yes, Briggs – yes, Skellenger – No. The motion carried.

A motion was made to authorize the clerk to transfer $1000.00 from the Road and Bridge Fund to
the General Fund. The motion was made by Skellenger and seconded by Leger. Carried.

Meeting adjourned.

H.A. Briggs
Clerk
