UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Tom Sagstetter Conservation & Key Accounts Manager <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />June 9, 2020 6.1e <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br />In the last 30 days, the level two charger located downtown had 6 sessions and provided <br />customers with 5 kWh. Unfortunately, one of the charging port connections is broken at <br />the downtown station. Staff is working with ChargePoint to get replacement parts and <br />have it fixed as soon as possible. The charger in the ERMU/City Hall parking lot had 8 <br />sessions and provided customers with 25 kWh of green energy. The DC fast charger at <br />the Coborns fuel station had 16 sessions and provided 106 kWh. There was a total of <br />charging 30 sessions and 136 kWh of energy provided over the last 30 days. <br /> <br />The City of Elk River and Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) are currently <br />working through the details of the easement for the wind turbine to be installed at the <br />Youth Athletic Complex (YAC). The wind turbine has arrived in Minnesota and is being <br />temporarily stored at an MMPA facility while also being refurbished. <br /> <br />Staff is developing lists of local electricians and HVAC contractors to provide them with <br />information on efficiency programs that ERMU offers to residential customers. The goal <br />is to have this information to contractors in June. <br /> <br />Participated in a panel presentation at the American Public Power Associations Public <br />Power Connect Virtual Summit & Business Meeting on electric vehicles (EV). The <br />presentation focused on ERMUs partnership with the city, lessons learned on public <br />charging rates, implementation of time-of-use rates, building brand recognition for <br />EV/ER Power Your Future, and educational efforts on EVs. <br /> <br />Staff is working with the Energy City Commission to review and update the 10-year <br />action plan. The plan is used as a tool to work with the city departments and their <br />sustainability goals. <br /> <br />Participated in the Elk River Chamber of Commerce government relations Zoom <br />meeting.
