UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission ERMU GM Search Committee <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />May 12, 2020 5.4 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Leadership Transition Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Approve the General Manager Job Description <br /> <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: <br />With the recent resignation of the General Manager, the commission acted on several <br />leadership transition action items during a special meeting on April 28. <br /> <br />The commission agreed on terms to hire Debra Englund, CEO HRExpertiseBP, as a search <br />consultant. The agreement was reviewed by counsel and has been executed by Ms. Englund <br />and Chair Dietz as authorized by the commission. The commission established a search <br />committee and appointed Chair Dietz and Commissioner Stewart to the committee. The <br />commission established that the search shall be open to internal and external candidates. The <br />commission appointed Theresa Slominski, Administrations Director, as Interim General <br />Manager effective May 23 and in effect for four months or until a new general manager starts, <br />whichever is sooner. And the commission approved terms for contract services with the <br />outgoing general manager effective May 23 and in effect for six months. <br /> <br />The commission gave the search committee direction to develop the following deliverables for <br />the May regular commission meeting: a tentative schedule for the general manager search and <br />selection process for commission review, and proposed general manager job description for <br />commission approval.
