He shared vehicular
movements in and out of Hillside Park and the projected city portion of the cost share of $1.2 million. The City
Council requested he present the updates at the May 13 Commission meeting.

The county considered Park and Recreation Commission safety concerns with speeds and traffic volumes for a
left turn out of the park. The county performed a roundabout analysis at Trott Brook Parkway, looked at and
added a modified curb to allow the U-turn maneuver at Trott Brook in lieu of the roundabout and added the
roundabout at Johnson Street. They added a dedicated right turn lane into the park which provides a safety
benefit by getting traffic out of the through lane.

The city was unable to secure money to continue the trail system on CSAH 12 to Cleveland. The cost is
estimated at $61,000. The county is offering to pay for the trail construction as part of this reconstruction
project.

Financial Impact
The county presented April 20 to City Council the city’s cost share of $1.2 million.

Attachments
Project Comment Cards
CSAH 12 Improvements Map and Project Map
