<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 12, 1959 <br /> <br />A special meeting was held at the Village Hall on Oct 12, 1959 for the purpose of opening bids for <br />the sewer extensions. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Henry Johnson, Mayor; G.R Bergerson, August Meyer, R.G. Kemper, Trustees; H.A. <br />Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />Bids <br />Fr. Mortenson’s Inc. St. Paul, Minn $244,947.35 total bid <br />Kassan Sewer and Water Co Kassan, Minn. $157,911.60 total bid <br />Peter Lanetti Const Co St. Paul, Minn $161,000.57 total <br />Don Gordon Co Searlen, Minn $149,866.50 <br />Barbarossa and Sons St. Cloud, Minn $158,680.75 <br />Nodland Const Co Alexandria, Minn $281,883.60 <br />Rooter and Johnson Elk River, Minn $128,509.80 <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bergerson and seconded by Kemper to accept bid of Rooter and Johnson <br />for the sewer extension, which was the lowest bid, the amount subject to the checking by the <br />engineers. Carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Kemper and seconded by Briggs to issue local improvement bonds to pay <br />for the sewer extensions as per Rooter and Johnson bid plus engineering fees. Motion carried. <br /> <br />There was a discussion regarding the contract for the sewer disposal plant. A motion was made by <br />Meyer and seconded by Kemper that the proposal of Sysne Co for the sewer disposal plant be <br />accepted. Motion carried. All voting in favor. <br /> <br />The matter of the liquor store bartenders salaries was brought up. Upon motion by Bergerson and <br />second by Briggs the salaries of bar tenders was raised $25.00 per month. Carried. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />H.A.
