<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 17, 1936 <br /> <br />The special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg store Tuesday March 17, <br />1936 at 2:00 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />The purpose of this meeting was to read over the application of Carl Johnson for an “on and off” <br />sale non intoxicating malt liquor license. Mr. L.A. Herrick owner of the Bldg where Mr. Johnson is <br />going to start his business came before the Council and told them that Mr. Johnson and his wife <br />plan on operating their place the year around and asked to have the above application approved. A <br />motion was made by Wm. Greupner seconded by Wm Patenaude to allow Mr. Johnson an “on and <br />off” sale non-intoxicating malt liquor license. Upon roll call – <br />Ayes – Wm Patenaude, Wm Greupner, Geo Cornelius <br /> <br />J.D. Flaherty reported that the main on High Street leading to the Tile Factory was frozen and asked <br />the opinion of the Council on this matter. It was decided to leave it up to the Water Committee to <br />do what they thought best. <br /> <br />No further business meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Wm. H. Greupner J.D.
