<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 10, 1936 <br /> <br />The special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Monday January 10, 1936 <br />at 7:30 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br />J.D. Flaherty, Pres.; Geo Cornelius, G.A. Bailey, Wm Patenaude, Trustees; <br />Wm H Greupner, Clerk. <br /> <br />Visitors: K. Davis, L.A. Dare, Wm Roggatz, Dan Hjerpe and Henry Olson representing the Elk <br />River Fire Dept. <br /> <br />The purpose of this meeting was to decide if the Village Council should allow the Fire Dept to <br />answer County calls. After hearing the opinion of the Firemen and discussing the matter a resolution <br />was offered by trustee G.A. Bailey who moved its adoption which was duly seconded by Wm H. <br />Greupner, Clerk. <br /> <br />Resolution <br /> <br />Resolved by the Village Council of the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minn. that said <br />Council does hereby send it’s Fire Dept and equipment outside of the Village limits to any call <br />within reason <br />Whereas the telephone operator be instructed to blow the siren and call all firemen whenever a <br />county call is turned in. <br />Whereas the Village of Elk River pay the Firemen the same compensation as they would receive for <br />a call within the city limits. <br />Whereas, the Village charge either the insurance company or the property owner for making calls <br />outside of the Village limits. <br />Upon roll call this resolution was adopted. <br />Ayes – Wm H Greupner, G.A. Bailey and J.D. Flaherty <br />A.E. Taplin and Bob Vail presented an application for an “off sale” non intoxicating malt liquor <br />license to have a beer route in and around Elk River. After some discussion Wm Greupner made a <br />motion seconded by Wm Patenaude to grant a license to A.E. Taplin and Bob Vail.
