<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />September 10, 1935 <br /> <br />The special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Monday September 10, <br />1935 at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br />D.E. Davis, Pres.; Geo. Cornelius, Wm Patenaude, Trustees; <br />Wm H Greupner, Clerk. <br /> <br />The purpose of this meeting was to decide if the Village wanted to buy the aluminated stop signs. <br />th <br />Chas Patterson representing the American Development Co was in Elk River on Sept 5 and <br />installed a stop sign on main and Quincy Streets for a try out. Mr. Patterson was present at this <br />meeting to see if the Council was interested in buying two of these signs, to be installed on Main <br />Street. The price of each sign would be $75.00 less 10%. After looking signs over carefully and <br />realizing the necessity of slowing down traffic on Main Street a motion was made by Wm. Greupner <br />seconded by Wm Patenaude to purchase two of these signs. Motion carried <br />Ayes – D.E.
