VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
June 3, 1935

The regular meteing of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Monday June 3, 1935 at 8
o’clock P.M.

Members present:
D.E. Davis, Pres.; Geo. Cornelius, Wm Patenaude, Trustees;
Wm H Greupner, Clerk.

Visitors
A.L. Parker, G.H. Lewis, L.G. Nelson, A. Middelstadt, Wm. Brown, R.J. Jensen, A.
Mitten, Chas Bade, Morris Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. H. Anderson.

Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.

A.L. Parker and G.H. Lewis came before the Council stating that taking out a dance
license every month made it rather incoveneitn for them and they wanted to know if
a license could not be issued to them for one year. A motion was made by Geo
Cornelius seconded by Wm H Greupner to allow A.L. Parker and G.H. Lewis a
Dance license for one year at a charge of $10.00. Motion carried.

L.G. Nelson came before the Council in behalf of H.H. Meyers, asking the Clerk to
write Mr. Lester Rootes about having his lot, that is next to Mr. Meyers property,
cleaned up. The Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Rootes about this matter.

A. Middelstadt and M. Nelson were asked for an estimate of the cost of cub and sidewalk providing
the Council would make up a project and have the work done by relief labor. They stated the
maximum cost would be 17 cents a running ft. for curb and 8 cents a sq. foot for sidewalk.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Anderson came before the Council asking for a fence along the west line of
their property to keep swimmers from trespassing on their land. A motion was made by Wm.
Greupner second by Geo Cornelius and carried to have Mr. Clements put up this fence.

Chas Bade being present apoke about the back lot of Mrs. Folsoms property saying that if it could
be purchased at a reasonable figure. It would be possible to make the swimming pool larger and also
have a bathhouse built. He thought the property could be bought for about $25.00 and he was quite
sure the Commcial Club would donate $100.00 and the Community Club $50.00 which would leave
only $100.00 for the Village to spend for the land. It was the council’s opinion that they would be in
favor of this if it could be carried out as planned.

Chas Nelson asked for a 110 wire to be put in the pump house as the 220 there now is dangerous. A
motion was made by Geo Cornelius seconded by Wm Greupner and carried to have these wires
installed.

Now that the Village Park is planted with a lot of shrubbery it is more work than Mr. Nelson can
take care of. Donald Davis reported that Mr. Keays would take care of it for $10.00 a month. A
