<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 11, 1935 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg. Monday, March 11, 1935 at <br />8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Present: D.E. Davis, Pres.; Geo. Cornelius and Wm. Patenaude, Trustees; <br />Wm. H. Greupner, Clerk. <br /> <br />The purpose of this meeting was to meet with the Library Board and take up the matter of the <br />Librarian. The \[sic\] Mrs. Latta, Longfellow and Bailey representing the Library board came before <br />the Council stating that they could not get Gladys Hulbert to cooperate with them in any way and <br />they wanted to know if they could discharge her and hire a new girl. Miss Hulbert was called in and <br />conditions explained to her but she was very indifferent. After a thorough discussion between the <br />board and the Council a motion was made by Wm. Greupner second\[ed\] by Geo. Cornelius and <br />st <br />carried to let the Library board discharge Miss Hulbert immediately but pay her up to April 1. The <br />Board were given permission to hire anyone they thought capable to fill the vacancy <br /> <br />A statement to the First Nat’l Bk for the Compensation Ins was read and ordered payed. \[sic\] The <br />amount \[was\] 100.88 <br /> <br />No further business meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Wm.
