Background/Discussion With the new multipurpose facility coming online later this year, we will need a staffing structure to operate. Staff has been working on a proposed department reorganization that provides the most efficient delivery of services with minimal disruption. To establish the staffing model, the staff structures of similar facilities were reviewed, and their management teams interviewed. We followed the following guiding principles in the reorganization: 1) Utilize existing staff. 2) Keep total budgeted salary/benefit numbers consistent with 2019 budget costs. 3) Add no new programs. 4) Keep job descriptions fluid until roles are established/maintain positions as interim. 5) Expect follow-up review in 2022 budget cycle. 6) Be willing to change the scope of existing positions and programs. The draft proposal has been reviewed with current staff. If the council is comfortable with the staff model, the next step is to complete the job description buildout and have each scored for the proper wage rate through our compensation plan. Final job descriptions will be brought to Council Consent for final approval.
