<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 16, 1941 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on June 16, 1941 at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by E.L. Shadick granting Leo Varville “off” <br />and “on” sale non-intoxicating malt liquor license for one year. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by Clinton Walker granting Anthony Surrell a <br />Milk License for one year. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by Clinton Walker granting E.L. Shadick a <br />license to operate a pinball machine for one year. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The council authorized Miss Gladys Hulbert to purchase a pair of shoes at a price not to exceed <br />$3.50. <br /> <br />A letter from Miss Emma Taylor was read to the Council. Miss Taylor stated that she owed a doctor <br />bill of $21.85 which she was unable to pay. She requested the Council to allow the bill. The council <br />felt that they could not allow the bill because they had no knowledge of it at the time it was <br />contracted and it had not been authorized. <br /> <br />No further business.
