UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs – Operations Director <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />March10, 2020 6.1c <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Had 8 new house services. <br /> Continue collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. <br /> When the frost thaws, we will finish removing poles on Pascal Street, Troy Street, and <br />189th Avenue for those rebuild projects. <br /> Continue going through the electrical infrastructureto make sure the map matches what <br />is in the field. We are checking that the proper warning stickers are in place, using an <br />infrared camera to make sure the transformer connections are not overheating, and <br />checking for any other issues. This task will be preformed between other jobs that come <br />in. <br /> We received the replacement shipment of decorative poles and have now completed <br />theinstallation of streetlightsonMain Street. <br /> A vehicle struck a streetlight at County Road1 and Upland Avenue that needed to be <br />st <br />replaced. Another streetlight was struck on171 Avenue. That pole was straightened <br />and fitted with a new fixture. <br /> We have completed as much of the three-phase overhead line rebuild on Jarvis Street, <br />th <br /> Avenue and Highway 10, as we can until the thaw allowsus to install the <br />between 165 <br />necessary three phase underground lines. <br />Carr’s Tree Service, who we contract with for tree trimming, wrapped up their portion of <br />the winter tree trimming on February 28. ERMU line crews will continue to work on tree <br />trimming as time permits. <br />The City’s Fleet Maintenance Divisionwill be performingDepartment of Transportation <br />inspectionsonour trucks and trailers during March and April. <br /> Scott Thoreson and Matt Zipp attended the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association <br />(MMUA) Meter School held February 11-14 in Marshall, MN. <br /> Nick Hommerding, Matt Zipp, and Tyler Meyers attended the MMUA rodeo clinic held <br />February 26-27 in Marshall, MN. They will be competing in the apprentice events at the <br />American Public Power Agency (APPA) Lineworkers Rodeo being held April 17-18 in <br />Kansas City, MO. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />81 <br />
