UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Mike Tietz Technical Services Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />January 14, 2019 6.1d <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> In December, the locating department had a total of 94 locate tickets consisting of 4 <br />emergency tickets, 1 cancellation, 60 normal tickets, and 29 updated tickets. This is a <br />49.7% decrease in volume of tickets from the previous month. The locators have been <br />collecting GPS data again as time allows. <br /> <br /> Electrical Technicians continue with updating the power bill, substation checks, <br />disconnects/reconnects, dealing with customer meter and off-peak issues. <br /> <br /> On December 19, staff ran Engines 1 & 3 without any issues. The vendor that is doing <br />the repair of Engine #2 has again pushed back their starting date to sometime in <br />January. <br /> <br /> Weekly meter reads continue to go well. Staff continues to perform meter audits <br />around the system as time allows and has discovered several instances of vegetation <br />blocking access to meters. The effected customers will be notified about correcting the <br />issues. <br /> <br /> Mapping department continues to update points and attributes for all our systems <br />assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. Power System Engineering will assist us with <br />integrating our GIS maps with NISC. We anticipate having this available for staff in the <br />first quarter of 2020. <br /> <br /> The West Substation Equipment Storage Garage is almost complete. The heating system <br />is just waiting for the louvered fresh air vent system to be installed before occupancy. <br />The automatic gate opener is scheduled to be finished by January 10. <br /> <br /> Engineering staff has been working with Power System Engineering on putting together <br />a bid package for the new power plant substation transformer, and plan to have it <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />170 <br />
