UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO: FROM: ERMU Commission Mike Tietz Technical Services Superintendent MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: January 14, 2019 6.1d SUBJECT: Staff Update ACTION REQUESTED: None DISCUSSION: In December, the locating department had a total of 94 locate tickets consisting of 4 emergency tickets, 1 cancellation, 60 normal tickets, and 29 updated tickets. This is a 49.7% decrease in volume of tickets from the previous month. The locators have been collecting GPS data again as time allows. Electrical Technicians continue with updating the power bill, substation checks, disconnects/reconnects, dealing with customer meter and off-peak issues. On December 19, staff ran Engines 1 & 3 without any issues. The vendor that is doing the repair of Engine #2 has again pushed back their starting date to sometime in January. Weekly meter reads continue to go well. Staff continues to perform meter audits around the system as time allows and has discovered several instances of vegetation blocking access to meters. The effected customers will be notified about correcting the issues. Mapping department continues to update points and attributes for all our systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. Power System Engineering will assist us with integrating our GIS maps with NISC. We anticipate having this available for staff in the first quarter of 2020. The West Substation Equipment Storage Garage is almost complete. The heating system is just waiting for the louvered fresh air vent system to be installed before occupancy. The automatic gate opener is scheduled to be finished by January 10. Engineering staff has been working with Power System Engineering on putting together a bid package for the new power plant substation transformer, and plan to have it ______________________________________________________________________________ Page 1 of 2 170
