UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs – Operations Director <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />January 14, 2020 6.1c <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Had 8 new house services. <br /> Continue collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. <br /> Completed transfer tothe new underground infrastructure for the Lawatsch Farms <br />th <br />Addition, Pascal Street, Troy Street, and 189 Avenue. We are working on removing the <br />old overhead infrastructure. <br /> Still waiting on a shipment of decorative poles that will be used for the one remaining <br />downtown light that still needs to be replaced, and for 29 lights along Quaday Avenue in <br />Otsego. <br />th <br /> Started rebuilding the three phase overhead line on Jarvis Street between 165 Avenue <br />and Highway 10. This is a project we have been working on in the winter months when <br />the ground is frozen. There are some three phase undergroundlinesthat will need to be <br />installed before we can finish the project. <br /> Continue work on the replacement of seven poles that didn’t pass inspection. This task <br />will be performed between other jobs as they come in. <br /> The contract tree trimming service continues work and ERMU line crews havealso <br />started trimming. <br />We had service fail at two houses, one required thereplacement of theunderground <br />line, and with the other house, the underground line was repaired. <br />A vehicle strucka three phase riser pole at the entrance to the landfill which needed to <br />be replaced. A single phase padmount transformerson County Road 33 was struck by a <br />vehicle and alsoneeded to be replaced. Anothersingle phase padmount transformer in <br />Otsego was struck by a snowmobile andjust needed to be put back on the pad. <br /> Scott Thoreson and Matt Zipp attended Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association <br />(MMUA) Transformer School, December 10-13, in Marshall, MN. <br /> We are developing the specs for the new power plant substation transformer, which is <br />scheduled to go out for bid in January.
