UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Dave Ninow Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />December 17, 2019 5.2 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Gary Street Water Tower Rehabilitation Bids <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Award the Gary Street Water Tower Rehabilitation Bid to Elevation Coating, LLC for the amount <br />of $267,900.00. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Gary Street Water Tower was originally constructed and painted in 1995. The exterior of <br />the tower was reconditioned in 2011, the interior paint coating was only spot repaired at that <br />time. The interior dry section of the tower was reconditioned in 2015. The interior wet section <br />of the tower is scheduled to be reconditioned in 2020. We went out for bids early with the <br />expectation that we would receive better than average bids. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The bid opening was December 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.; nine bids were received. The low bidder <br />was Elevation Coating, LLC with an amount of $267,900.00. Staff and Short Elliot Hendrickson, <br />Inc. (SEH) recommend awarding the bid to the lowest bidder, Elevation Coating, LLC, for the bid <br />amount of $267,900.00. Attached is the bid tabulation and letter of recommendation. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />As presented above.
