I expect to receive three more submissions by
the end of next week.
ECONOMIX
I attended the ECONOMIX event earlier this month. This event is a blending of economic development
professionals, coming together to stir additional insights and practical tools to enhance work in their
respective communities. The event features over 24 top site consultants and attended round table
discussions. The round table discussions are meant to obtain one-on-one time with the consultants so
they can learn about your community and what you have to offer. I have developed great relationships
with many of the consultants over the years of attending events like these. We have been working with
one of the consultants on a project in Elk River.
Site Location Partnership (SLP)
A site selector from Site Location Partnership (SLP) reached out to get a better understanding of our
community and what they can do to assist us in attracting new industry to Elk River. SLP provides
research and assistance to identify growing companies by identifying C -suite decision makers and their
contact information. They developed a customized database which includes a company's industry
classification, product/ services, executive leadership, history, facilities, revenue, workforce and other
related data. They utilize the information to proactively seek out industries that are looking to relocate or
expand into new markets. As we look forward to developing our strategic plan for economic
development, this may be a unique and proactive approach to attracting new industry to our community.
Mid-America Economic Development Council Competitive Forum (MAEDC)
Colleen attended the Mid-America Economic Development Council Competitive Forum in Chicago.
John Longshore with Global Location Strategies kicked off the conference with "Leading Your
The Elk River Vision
A welcoming community with rrvolutionary and riinted resourcefulness exceptional service, and community
engagement that encourages and ins
iireslimsierzty P O I E R E O 1 1
INATUREJ
