<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Economic Development Authority 4.5 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent December 16, 2019 Amanda Othoudt, ED Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Public Art Subcommittee Appointment Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the appointment of members to the Public Art Subcommittee. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />At their July 15, 2019, meeting, the EDA approved the RFP for a public art installation. The RFP was posted <br />and delivered to a master list of artists in and around the Central MN Arts District. <br /> <br />At their December 2, 2019, meeting, CM Wagner was nominated to the public art subcommittee. The <br />following citizens and representatives have expressed interest in participating in the subcommittee: <br /> <br /> Dan Tveite, EDA Representative <br /> Michael Niziolek, Parks and Rec Representative <br /> Sharon Tracy, Arts Alliance and Resident at Large <br /> Ann McCormik, EDA Beautification Committee member <br /> <br />The subcommittee will meet once in January to review all proposals. Once an artist is selected through the <br />process, an application for the Central MN Arts Board (CMAB) grant would be submitted in early 2020. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />The EDA budgeted $5,000 in 2020 as a matching grant for a public art installation at their June 17, 2019, <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> N/A <br /> <br /> <br />The Elk River Vision <br />A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional <br />service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity <br />
