<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 8, 1941 <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Village Council was called by Mayor Tesch for 3 P.M. Jan 8 at the <br />Municipal Bldg. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. Clinton Walker, <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Also present at the meeting were the following members of the commercial club. R.K. Wilson, L.K. <br />Houlton, Chas Bode and L.D. Bailey. <br /> <br />Mr. Moody of the Jaron Moody and Rice firm and Mr. Williams of the Wilson Williamson Co were <br />present and Mr. Moody presented to the meeting a tentative plan for financing the Village portion of <br />the projected sewer system and sewage disposal plant. The plan called for financing the system by <br />revenue and assessments. The matter was discussed at length by those present. <br /> <br />It was decided to bring the matter before the Commercial Club at their annual meeting on Thurs. <br />th <br />evening Jan 16. Mr. Moody agreed to present the matter to the Commercial Club members. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by G.A. Bailey approving the attacked <br />proposal of the Firms – Allison – Williams Co. and Juran, Moody and Rice. <br /> <br />G.A. Bailey reported on the case of establishing the legal residence of Mrs. Anna Smith. He stated <br />th <br />that Geo Tyler was to appear for the village on Jan 14 at 9:30 A.M. <br /> <br />Mr. Tesch said he would see Mr. Davies and ask him to accompany Mr. Tyler. <br /> <br />No further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />J.C.
