Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Dave Ninow—Water Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> October 8, 2019 6.1e <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • Delivered 14 new water meters. <br /> • Sealed the water meter, installed encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop ties <br /> from 12 water services. <br /> • Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br /> o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria. <br /> o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> • Completed 20 routine fluoride samples <br /> o All samples met MDH standards. <br /> o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br /> • Submitted 7 Nitrate samples to the MDH <br /> • The annual leak detection survey has been completed. There were three fire hydrants <br /> identified as leaking, the water operators have made the necessary repairs. <br /> • Water department staff has been working with the contractor preforming water main <br /> connections for River Place Second Addition. <br /> • Results came back from the lead and copper tap water testing done this year: we are <br /> well under the action level for lead and copper. A letter with results of the testing and <br /> information on lead/copper in drinking water was sent on September 19 to every <br /> resident that participated in sampling their tap water.
