Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs—Operations Director <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> September 10, 2019 6.1c <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • Had 24 new house services. <br /> • Continue collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. <br /> • The infrastructure is in place to acquire Areas 7 and 8, the final sections of the Electric <br /> Service Territory Transfer Agreement with Connexus. We will start by acquiring some of <br /> the customers that require longer outage times the week of September 9,and the rest <br /> will be acquired on September 17. <br /> • We are working on putting in the infrastructure for the Monroe Estates Addition.There <br /> are a total of 13 lots in this addition. <br /> • Continue installing the underground infrastructure for the Lawatsch Farms Addition. <br /> During the installation we will also be rebuilding Pascal Street,Troy Street, and 189th <br /> Avenue. <br /> • Continue working on rerouting the primary wire for the new Multipurpose Facility. <br /> • Installation has begun on the new poles and light fixtures on Main Street. <br /> • We plowed in 600 feet of pipe to accommodate connection of the new Welcome to Elk <br /> River sign on Highway 169 by the landfill. <br /> • Construction equipment hit the pole and tore the single phase wire down at the <br /> Riverplace 2nd Addition on 185th Avenue.There was an outage for some customers until <br /> we could replace the pole and put the wire back up. <br /> • We experienced a half a dozen minor outages related to the storms that came through <br /> Labor Day night. <br /> • As a result of the storms, Connexus called for mutual aid on September 3; ERMU <br /> lineworkers Scott Thoreson and Jake Koehler were dispatched to assist in restoring <br /> power. <br /> • Florida Municipal Electric Association requested mutual aid support for the anticipated <br /> storm recovery work that would be needed in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. On August <br /> 31, ERMU sent two lineworkers, Mitch Girtz and Curt Wark, along with a bucket truck to <br /> help in the restoration efforts. As the storm did not hit Florida as hard as expected, the <br /> Minnesota lineworkers were released from duty on September 4. <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 216 <br />
