Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Tom Sagstetter—Conservation & Key Accounts Manager <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> September 10, 2019 2.3 <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> American Public Power Association's Demonstration of Energy& Efficiency Development <br /> Program Grant Final Report <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Receive the APPA DEED Grant Final Report <br /> BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: <br /> Elk River Municipal Utilities received an American Public Power Association Demonstration of Energy& <br /> Efficiency Development(APPA DEED) Grant for$40,000 in December 2016.The grant enabled ERMU to <br /> research the application of time-of-use rates in public charging stations,and the feasibility of electric <br /> vehicles in municipal fleet operations. It also allowed ERMU to install public charging stations for the <br /> community, and build practical knowledge for other public power utilities to build on. ERMU was one of <br /> the leaders in promoting electric vehicles and charging infrastructure in the state, and continues to <br /> serve as a resource for other utilities and policy makers seeking to implement electric vehicle initiatives. <br /> Attached is the final report and summary abstract for your review.The report is also available on the <br /> APPA DEED web site for other public power utilities to learn from.The final invoice for$10,000 has been <br /> submitted and the payment is expected within the next few weeks. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> • ERMU Final Report for APPA DEED Grant <br /> • ERMU Summary Abstract for APPA DEED Grant <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 39 <br />
