Meeting of the Elk River Parks and <br />Recreation Commission <br />Held at the Elk River City Hall <br />Wednesday, August 14, 2019 <br /> <br />Members Present: Chair Anderson, Commission members Holmgren, Loidolt, Niziolek, Rathbun, <br />Soltvedt, and Williams <br /> <br />Council Liaison: Ms. Wagner <br /> <br />Staff Present: Parks and Recreation Director, Michael Hecker, Recreation Manager, Steve <br />Benoit, Tim Sevcik Street and Park Superintendent, and Recreation <br />Coordinator, Tonya Love <br /> <br />1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Parks and Recreation <br />Commission was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Anderson. <br /> <br />2. Pledge of Allegiance <br /> <br />3. Consider 08/14/2019 Agenda <br /> Mr. Hecker removed Item 6. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Soltvedt and seconded by Commissioner Williams to approve <br />the August 14, 2019 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting agenda with the <br />removal of Item 6. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />4 Consider 06/12/2019 Regular PRC Minutes <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Loidolt and seconded by Commissioner Soltvedt to approve <br />the following June 12, 2019 Regular Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes. <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />5. Open Forum <br /> <br />Frank Carlson, 215th Avenue Elk River, local Pickleball Association would like to see new <br />pickleball courts and asked if the Commission would talk to the Athletic Director at the Elk <br />River High School to line some of their tennis courts for pickleball. <br /> <br />Scott Daulton, looking for additional stripping on existing tennis courts, group brings own <br />nets. <br /> <br />Cathy Warneke, Pickleball advocate. Shared that the commission should check out the Coon <br />Rapids pickleball courts. <br /> <br />Glen Simanco, Anoka converted tennis courts to pickleball courts.
