Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Michelle Canterbury— Executive Administrative Manager <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> July 9, 2019 1.4 <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Recognition of Employee Achievement—Troy Adams, APPA Board Appointment <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: <br /> On Tuesday,June 11, at the American Public Power Association's Annual Business Meeting during their <br /> national conference,the membership voted to elect nominees for vacant seats on their board of <br /> directors. Having received numerous letters of support for Troy Adams' nomination, the <br /> association's nominating committee recommended to membership that Mr. Adams be <br /> appointed to the vacant seat in Region 3. This region represents Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, <br /> Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota,and South Dakota.The membership unanimously voted in support of <br /> the nominating committee's recommendation, officially electing Troy Adams to the American Public <br /> Power Association's Board of Directors. <br /> Similar to the role the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association plays for ERMU here in Minnesota,the <br /> American Public Power Association provides critical advocacy for municipal electric utilities at the <br /> federal level.Additionally,they provide exceptional training opportunities and other services. And <br /> through their advocacy and services,they have been an important part of Elk River Municipal Utilities' <br /> success. <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 2 <br />
