<br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />ELK RIVER VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE VILLAGE OFFICE BUILDING <br /> <br />July 25, 1973 at 7:30 PM. <br /> <br />A Special Meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by Mayor Lundberg <br />on July 25, 1973 at 7:29 PM. in the Council Chambers of the Village Office Building. <br />Members were present as follows: Mayor Lundberg, Councilman Cooper, Hudson, Syring and otto. <br /> <br />7:30 PM. The Public Hearing on the 1973 Street Improvements convened. <br /> <br />Bill Mills, Village Engineer reviewed the preliminary plans for the proposed 73 Street <br />Improvements. <br /> <br />Mr. Don Beaudry, $33 Fawn Rd. Elk Hills Addition asked Mr. Mills what the plans were as <br />to what they were going to do for the dead end on Fawn Rd. Mr. Mills stated that they <br />plan to construct a2~ around area. <br /> <br />Wm. Schaefer, 930 Elk Lane, Elk Hills Addition stated that he was infavor of the proposed <br />improvements for Elk Hills. <br /> <br />There were no ~ affected property owners who appeared fOI or against the 1973 Street <br />Improvement project therefore the Mayor declared the Public Hearing on the 1973 Street <br />Improvements adjourned at $:29. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hudson and seconded by Councilman Otto ordering the Village Engineer <br />Bill Mills to proceed with the plans and specification of the 1973 Street Improvement <br />Program consisting of the following:Elk Hills Addition, King Avenue to Main Street~ <br />Industrial Rd. Orono Park Road, Fire Station Parking lot. Motion unanimously carried <br />by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Cooper approving Ernie Carlson <br />proprietor of Main Tap revewal request for his on and off sale non-intoxicating liquor <br />license. Motion unanimous~ carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />$:30 PM. The Public Hearing for the Construction of a Storm Sewer on School Street convened. <br /> <br />James LuDuke, 515 School Street met with the Council in opposition to the proposed storm <br />sewer because being the cost is $10,000 and is only a'temporary project he felt that <br />he would rather see the alternate #2 proposal at a cost of $1,000. consisting of a <br />excavated sump. <br /> <br />. . ~~~m~ <br />Other c~tzens ~n attendance felt the same as Mr. LuDuke that they.rperferea the Alternate <br />Plan #2. <br /> <br />Therewepe.. 00 eTher affeetcd pI opel t;y uwm::~ 5 who af>peared '-for-or-agaInstthe-~ed. <br />St-ePm-Se~iOr projec L Ou Cebool Street +.hp.refere the Mayor declared the Public Hearing <br />on the Storm Sewer on School Street Project adjourned at 9:12 PM. <br /> <br />The Council reviewed the new off-sale liquor store project and it was the conscious of the <br />Council that it would be to the best interest of the Village to purchase the property <br />from Mr. Larson and construct the building by means of issuing Revenue Bonds. <br /> <br />No further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:11 PM. <br />f"~\ <br /> <br /> <br />~1-. <br /> <br />
