<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order <br />by Mayor Bartelt, on February 7, 1972 at 7:30 pm. in the Council Room of the Village <br />Office Building. Member were present as follows: Mayor Bartelt and Councilman Syring, <br />Hudson, Otto and Konop. Village Attorney John MacGibbon in attendance. <br /> <br />The minutes of the January 17, 1972 regular meeting were read. There were no addition <br />or correction and the minutes were approved as read. <br /> <br />Building Inspector Rex Oetinger meet with the council and recommended some changes be <br />made in the building code pertaining to mobile homes. The Council requested that Rex <br />obtain extra copies of the State Building Code for the Councils review and to make his <br />recommendations prior to the Councils adoption of the new Building Code. <br /> <br />Mr. Mills Village Engineer presented his progress report on his projected seweage system <br />survey. It was agreeable with the council that ~~. Mills continue his survey of the <br />Northern Trunk Line with the twin disposal plant system opposed to the Southern Trunk Line. <br /> <br />Noved by Councilman Otto and seconded by Councilman Syring that a dance permit for Feb. <br />14, 1972 be issued to the ragles Club for a one time only and that the fee be waivered. <br />Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />Cliff Lundberger meet with the Council and voiced some of his views on the possibility of <br />a new Library Building or a Village Complex he also informed the Council of various <br />Youth and Civic Meeting dates that he was involved with and extended an invitation to <br />the council member to attend. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman otto and seconded by Councilrr~n Syring to adopt the Library resolution <br />transferring the tangible personal property of the Village Library to the Great River <br />Regional Library. Motion unaminously carried. A copy of the resolution is attached. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Konop and seconded by CounciL~an Syring to approve the carpeting bid <br />from Adams Furniture Co. in the amount of $1,441.17 for the new fire station. <br />Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />~. The Council instructed Chief of Police Bob Olson that he would have to restrict his out <br />side the Village limits police protection to those calls that are absolutely necessary. <br />He was further advised that if he wishes to continue his part-time job as school bus <br />driver he would have to have the approval of the Council because the part-time job hours <br />interfer with the police department coverage hours. A request for Council approval will <br />be required at the February 21, 1972 meeting. <br /> <br />Moved by Council~an Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson to increase the Village <br />employees wage ~ehedule retractive 1-1-72 as follow: <br />Liquor Store Manager ~;810/month <br />Janitor 249/month <br />Full-time Bartenders 3.50/hour <br />Part-time Bartenders 3.25/hour <br />Full-time Off Sale Clerks & Waitress 2.40/hour <br />Part-time Off Sale Clerks & Haitress2.35/hour <br />Clerical-Clerk 2.60/hour <br />Street & Plant Superintendent ~50/month <br />Street & Sewer Disposal employees 3.50/hour <br />DumpIT~n 3. 25/hour <br />Chief Of Police 775/month <br />Patrolman 675/month <br />Clerk-Treasurer 625/month <br />The Clerk-Treasurers salary will be reviewed. again at the May 15, 1972 regular meeting. <br />Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />The following bills for the General Government were approved for payment: <br />
