<br />V <br />A special meeti.ng of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Bartelt on Aug. 18, 1971, at 12:15 pm at the Kemethese Dining Room. Members <br />present were Mayor Bartelt and Councilmen Syring, Konop and Qtto, ,with Village <br />Attorney John MacGibbon in attendance. <br /> <br />Discussion followed on the status of Larry Peterson as Clerk-Treasurer. Agree- <br />able that Mr. MacGibbon should ask Mr. Peterson for a written resignation from <br />the Clerk-Treasurers position. <br /> <br />Possible participation in the Great River Regional Library System was discussed. <br />Mr. MacGibbon will be attending the Aug. 19, 1971 board meeting to learn what <br />they provide. Agreeable that a joint.meeting be held by the .Council and the <br />Elk River library Board with the Regional Committee to learn more of their services. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Otto, to negotiate further <br />and to endorse county wide participation. Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />Mr. MacGibbon reported that the hearing for the discharged liquor store employees <br />has been postponed by the labor concilator until Aug. 31 or Sept. 1, 1971. <br /> <br />No further business, the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />w~~.\2~ V(f <br /> <br />.
