<br />" March 1, 1971 <br /> <br /> <br />~ The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called <br />to order by acting Mayor Hudson on March 1, 1971 at 7:30 pm in the VillageLo~~~i L <br />Room. Members present were Councilmen Hudson, Syring, Konop, and otto. <br /> <br />D <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Feb. 15, 1971 meeting were read. No additions or correct- <br />ions were m8.de and the minutes were approved as read. <br /> <br />Police chief Olson discussed with the Council the possibility of purchasing <br />a walking measuring stick, a poloroid colored camera, and new uniforms. <br />The ~ouncil gave their permission to get same equipment repair tickets. Also, <br />}tr. "Olson said that the dog problem in the Village is getting acute. It will <br />cos~ the owner,sof dogs $15 to claim their dog from the Village kennel. After <br />three days the dogs will be disposed of if they are not claL~ed. Also, XkK <br />a police radio is still in Earl Hohlen's Car. It was stated tha the new <br />police chief will have to furnish his own pistol and gun belt. <br /> <br />MarVin George of Marvin George Builders met with the Council to discuss the <br />future possibilities of the annexation of his home developement site of <br />School VieW which aSoins the Village now and is continuous property. Marvin <br />George ~as informed by the Council that if he wanted the Annexation proceed- <br />ings to begin, he should file a petition for annexation with the Minnesota <br />Municipal Commissimn and with the Boards of all towns 'and Counties in which <br />any 'of the Land tob'knnexed is located. Marvin George was mainly concerned <br />with getting sewer and water installed by the Village after this "land was <br />annexed. His present project will consist of fifty houses which should be <br />completed within five years. <br /> <br />'\ <br />
