Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Tom Sagstetter—Conservation & Key Accounts Manager <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> April 9, 2019 6.1f <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • In the last month, the level two charger downtown had 4 sessions, and provided <br /> customers with 42 kWh of green energy.The charger in the ERMU/City Hall parking lot <br /> had 14 sessions and provided customers with 222 kWh of green energy. The DC fast <br /> charger at the Coborn's fuel station had 3 sessions and provided 46 kWh of green <br /> energy to customers. <br /> • The (Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) Energy Education Events at local <br /> grade schools were well received this year. MMPA updated the content to focus more <br /> on efficiency and using energy wisely. The new presentation allowed for more <br /> interaction with the students, resulting in a better learning experience and retention of <br /> information. The presentation was given to 4th grade students at Meadowvale, St. <br /> Andrew's,Twin Lakes, and Otsego Elementary. <br /> • Attended Distributed Energy Resources compliance training. This workshop was <br /> provided by Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA.) All municipal utilities in <br /> the state are required to update and approve the Distributed Energy Resource <br /> Interconnection Process annually. This year there were considerable changes in the <br /> organization of the document and timelines for each interconnection process <br /> established.The updated documents will be prepared and brought back for commission <br /> approval in May. <br /> • Presented electric vehicle (EV) charging information at the Cities Charging Ahead <br /> Conference in St. Paul.The focus of the presentation was on how cities and utilities can <br /> become active in EV technology adoption at different levels. I presented with <br /> representatives from the University of Minnesota, City of St. Paul, and City of <br /> Bloomington. <br /> • Represented ERMU as a presenter along with the Salt River Project for an American <br /> Public Power Association (APPA) sponsored webinar.The webinar focused on how large <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> 193 <br />
