Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> April 9, 2019 6.1c <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • Had 7 new house services. <br /> • Continued collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. <br /> • Continued tree trimming. <br /> • Continued rebuilding the three phase overhead line on Jarvis Street between 165th <br /> Avenue and Highway 10. <br /> • A street light was struck by a vehicle at 18563 Zane Court. <br /> • Updated 12 street light fixtures to LED bulbs on Baldwin Street in the Deerfield Addition. <br /> Replaced a street light on Highway 10 and Lowell Avenue which was struck this winter. <br /> • The City shop is finishing up the Department of Transportation inspections on our trucks <br /> and trailers. <br /> • De-energized the original transformer at the Sherburne County Courthouse to allow <br /> them to perform work on the secondary switchgear inside the building. <br /> • One of the three vacuum bottles on the 69KV circuit switcher at the Waco 1 Substation <br /> needs to be replaced. It gave a low pressure alarm on Supervisory Control and Data <br /> Acquisition (SCADA) so our system engineer was working with the manufacturer to <br /> determine the cause and what parts need to be replaced. <br /> • Assistant Electric Superintendent Tom Geiser attended the Electrical Lineworker <br /> Technology Program Advisory Board meeting at Minnesota State Community and <br /> Technical College in Wadena, MN. He received an update from the Academic Dean, <br /> discussed the existing curriculum, and gave suggestions on ways to improve the <br /> curriculum as the industry changes. <br /> • Lineworker Derek Groebner has accepted a job with Connexus. <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 184 <br />
