Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> March 12, 2019 6.1c <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • We had 11 new house services. <br /> • Continued collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. <br /> • Continued tree trimming. <br /> • Continued rebuilding the three phase overhead line on Jarvis Street between 165th <br /> Avenue and Highway 10. <br /> • Finished testing the overhead and underground protective grounds, the fiberglass hot <br /> sticks, and cleaning the truck booms for their inspection. These are all done annually. <br /> • A Sherburne County snow plow truck struck a single phase transformer on County Road <br /> 33, west of County Road 1. <br /> • We had two street lights that were struck by vehicles, one at 195th Lane and Proctor <br /> Road, and one at 192nd Lane and Ivanhoe Drive. <br /> • We had a single phase transformer and a secondary pedestal get damaged when a <br /> private contractor operating a payloader was removing snow on 172nd Lane in the <br /> Woods of Elk River Station addition. <br /> • We assisted in fixing the windmill generator on 225th Avenue for ENEL after a jumper <br /> wire broke on the overhead power line.They will be charged for time and materials. <br /> • Zac Johnson and Jake Koehler attended the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association <br /> (MMUA) Meter School held February 12-15 in Marshall, MN. <br /> • Zac Johnson, Matt Schwartz, and Jake Koehler will be competing as a journeymen team <br /> at the American Public Power Agency (APPA) Lineworkers Rodeo being held March 29- <br /> 30 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They also attended a rodeo clinic that MMUA puts on <br /> in Marshall, MN on February 27-28. I will be a judge at the Lineworkers Rodeo and will <br /> also be attending the Engineering and Operations Technical Conference immediately <br /> following the rodeo, March 31-April 3. <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 119 <br />
