Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Eric Volk—Water Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> March 12, 2019 6.1e <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • Delivered ten new water meters. <br /> • Sealed the water meter, and took curb stop ties from twelve water services. <br /> • Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br /> o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria <br /> o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> • Completed 19 routine fluoride samples <br /> o All samples met MDH standards <br /> o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br /> • There was a water main break on March 5 at the corner of 190th Ave and 191St Ave. We <br /> worked with Valley-Rich to get the main repaired.The water was off for roughly two <br /> hours. We will have the street patched in the spring. <br /> • The design for the Well #8 building has been completed. We are just putting the final <br /> touches on the specs and hope to get it out for bid shortly. <br /> • The backwash outflow pipe for Water Treatment Plant (WTP) #6 froze up causing the <br /> well house to flood.There was roughly two feet of water inside the treatment plant.The <br /> water operators were able to clean up the mess quickly reducing the damage caused by <br /> the water. Master Electric was contacted to help clean up the motor control center. <br /> They estimated that it will cost roughly$5,000 to repair the electrical parts that were <br /> damaged by the water. <br /> • The water operators have spent much of their time plowing snow and working on water <br /> treatment plants. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> • February 2019 Pumping by Well <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 122 <br />
