Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Tom Sagstetter—Conservation & Key Accounts Manager <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> March 12, 2019 6.1f <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • In the last month,the level two charger downtown had 3 sessions, and provided <br /> customers with 28 kWh of green energy.The charger in the ERMU/City Hall parking lot <br /> had 11 sessions and provided customers with 337 kWh of green energy.The DC fast <br /> charger at the Coborn's fuel station has had 2 sessions and provided 34 kWh of green <br /> energy to customers. <br /> • Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) Energy Education Events began in March. <br /> There were presentations on electric generation and energy efficiency provided to 4th <br /> grade students on March 7 at Meadowvale and St.Andrew's Elementary. MMPA has <br /> two more events scheduled for Twin Lakes Elementary on March 25 at 1:30 and Otsego <br /> Elementary on March 27 at 1:30. Each session is about an hour and is delivered by <br /> MMPA staff as well as the Science Museum of Minnesota. ERMU Commissioners are <br /> welcome to attend. Please bring a photo I.D. for checking in at the school. <br /> • Staff is waiting for final approval from Great River Energy(GRE) senior management for <br /> metering equipment asset sale.This will finalize the wholesale power transition to <br /> MMPA. <br /> • Received approval from the MN Department of Commerce regarding the service <br /> territory boundary change for areas five and six that were transitioned in September <br /> 2018.The next step will be review and approval from the MN Public Utilities <br /> Commission (MPUC). <br /> • Attended a workgroup meeting at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.This <br /> workgroup is focused on customer owned utilities and the policy implications for small <br /> distributed energy resources. <br /> • Delivered information to Burnsville city staff on the ERMU/City of Elk River FleetCarma <br /> assessment that was done with the help of American Public Power Association's (APPA) <br /> Demonstration of Energy& Efficiency Development(DEED) Grant. Burnsville staff <br /> members were receptive to the information and currently utilize a few of the Nissan <br /> Leafs. Completed the MPUC filing for Docket 19-10.This filing discloses the status of all <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> 123 <br />
