<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.10 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent March 4, 2019 Justin Femrite, P.E., City Engineer <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Accept Bids and Award Contract for 2019 Street Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Improvement Project <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the low bid and authorize the execution of a contract with ASTECH Corporation <br />for the construction of the 2019 Street Improvement project. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />Pursuant to approval of the proposed improvements detailed in the feasibility study presented on January <br />7, 2019, staff has advertised and received bids for the construction of the 2019 Street Improvement <br />project. There were a total of five bids received that ranged from $2,221,995.76 to $2,545,100.02. A <br />tabulation of the bids is attached. The low bid was submitted by ASTECH Corporation. <br /> <br />The schedule for the project is as follows: <br /> Feasibility Report approved by City Council January 7, 2019 <br /> Open Bids February 27, 2019 <br /> Award Contract March 4, 2019 <br /> Construction May, 2019 – September 2019 <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />Extremely competitive pricing resulted in the project bid coming in substantially lower than the Capital <br />Improvement Plan estimate.
