Request by Coborn's for a Conditional Use Permit for Signage. Public Hearing - Case No.
CU 02-13

Staff report by Chris Leeseberg, Planner. Coborn' s, Inc. requests a conditional use permit to
allow a 2' - 4 ~" x 20' sign on the west fas:ade of the pharmacy drive-thm canopy at 19425
Evans Street. Mr. Leeseberg described the proposed sign layout and materials. Staff is in
agreement that the sign is needed to identify the business from Highway 169, as well as
minimize the confusion of what the drive-thm is for. Staff recommends approval of the
request with the condition that the sign will consist of individual letters.

e

Commissioner Baker asked how this request differs from the Cub Foods sign request, which
was denied. Mr. Leeseberg explained that Cub Foods already had a sign identifying the
pharmacy and requested additional signage to add the word "Cub". Coborns has no signage
identifying the pharmacy at this time.
