Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> February 12, 2019 6.1c <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • We had 10 new house services. <br /> • Continued working on collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time <br /> permits. <br /> • Finished replacement of the 16 poles that didn't pass inspection. <br /> • Continued tree trimming. <br /> • Started rebuilding the three phase overhead line on Jarvis Street between 165th Avenue <br /> and HWY 10. <br /> • Changed out 27 fault indicators on the underground system. The indicators have <br /> batteries in them that were at the end of their life span. <br /> • Working on testing the overhead and underground protective grounds, the fiberglass <br /> hot sticks and cleaning the truck booms for their inspection. These are all done annually. <br /> • Went out to Eaton-Cooper switchgear manufacturing facility in South Milwaukee, <br /> Wisconsin to give input on the new design of their solid dielectric padmount switchgear. <br /> The current padmount switchgear we use has mineral oil in it for insulating the <br /> energized parts.The new design would not have oil in the switchgear. <br /> • I recently attended the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA )Job Training <br /> and Safety Committee (JTS)Annual Planning Meeting held January 8-9 in Brainerd, MN. <br /> The JTS Committee assists in setting up the upcoming schools that MMUA puts on. <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 94 <br />
