Request for Action <br />To <br />Item Number <br />Mayor And Council <br />10.1 <br />Agenda Section <br />Meeting Date <br />Prepared by <br />Work Session <br />February 4, 2019 <br />Michael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Director <br />Item Description <br />Reviewed by <br />Pinewood Golf Course Management Agreement <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br />Lori Ziemer, Finance Director <br />Action Requested <br />Discussion and direction to staff for new management agreement. <br />Background/Discussion <br />Chris Singer presented to City Council on January 21 regarding Pinewood's second year of operations. <br />The City Council approved a two-year agreement for Pinewood management on March 6, 2017 with the <br />Elk River Golf Club. <br />Mr. Singer plans to bring proposal options for discussion including terms and payments for a new <br />management agreement. <br />The original agreement required the city cover all operating expenses and receive all operating revenue. <br />The city also paid the Elk River Golf Club a management fee of $4,000 per month during the months of <br />April through September. <br />The Council should consider and discuss the goals and mission of Pinewood. A clear understanding of <br />Pinewood's purpose will be helpful in determining the operations contract and capital replacement / <br />investment. <br />Before closure in 2014, there were a number of capital investments and equipment replacements that <br />were planned.
