Approve, by motion, the continuation of the members of the Joint Finance Committee. <br />2. Consider and new committees and committee assignments of commissioners. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />HRA Bylaws suggest they consider appointments to all existing committees as necessary. The <br />appointment and/or removal of committee members are at the discretion of the HRA. <br /> <br />In addition, it is suggested the Authority consider the creation of any new committees during their annual <br />meeting, assign the appropriate number of commissioners and determine the assignments. <br /> <br />Currently, the HRA hosts one special committee, the Joint Finance Committee. The Committee provides <br />the HRA with a technical and politically neutral analysis of applications including microloan, tax <br />abatement, and tax increment financing applications. They meet on the last Tuesday of the month. <br /> <br />The Joint Finance Committee consists of nine (9) members: two (2) EDA members, two (2) HRA <br />members, and at large members representing various constituencies, including banking, real estate, law, <br />and the general community.
