<br />o <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Ttie regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council, of the village <br />of Elk River, was called to order by Mayor Bartelt on Nov. 16, 1970, in the <br />Council room of the Village Office Building at 7:30 p.m. Members present were <br />as follows: Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen Hudson, Syring, and Konop. <br /> <br />The minutes of the Nov. 2, 1970 regular meeting were read. No additions or <br />corrections were made. <br /> <br />Joe De Marais presented his Building Permit Application for building a combin- <br />ation warehouse and garage behind his business establishment, The council <br />referred it to Les Derr for his investigation and recommendation. <br /> <br />A representative from the staff of lID-CAP, HaYWara Liebling, ami a Vista volunteer <br />Rick 0 Neil, told the council about their desire to establish a Neighborhood <br />Service Center in ~~k River. They sought the support of the council in this <br />project and also"~rnke to have the village supply them with an office room or an <br />old house which they could use as their headquarters. Afeer discussion, move. <br />by Councilman SJring aha seconded by Councilman Hudson that the Council support <br />the establishment of a neighborhood service center under the direction of the <br />director of a neighbor8ood. serVice (TRI-CAP) in Elk River. Motion unanimously <br />carrie... <br /> <br />ABuilding Perffiit for A1Delganhausen was approved. <br />Upno,receipt of a letter of resignation received from Councilman Micheau, <br />Move. by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson that the council <br />accept the resignation of Councilman Micheau to be effective 12-31-70. Motion <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br />The Police Dispatching system in Conjunction~~~h the County sheriff was discussed. <br />'fhe Council decided that this system would be11easible than an independent dis- <br />patching system. Also, the Council decided that their should be a formal understand- <br />ing and agreement withe the sheriff's department as to the 'operations of the <br />dispatching system.. Also, the Councilmen were to make a list of the proceciures <br />which should be made clear in the, operation of the new dispatching systems. These <br />lists'would. then be consolidated at our special meeting to be hel. at 7:00 P.M. <br />Y~nday Nov. 23. Also at this meeting on Nov. 23, three applicants for the chief <br />of police position, Olson, Dixon and Anderson, will be interviewed by the Council. <br /> <br />The Mayor reported that A. N. Johnson Construction Co. were not able to construct <br />an extension of the sanitary sewer line oi Quinn Ave. to the George Adamski <br />property because of another project out of town. Big Lake Gravel is doing the <br />work which costs an additional 50~/ft. to install. Nothing was concluded. as to <br />whom will assume this additional cost. . <br /> <br />Councilman Hudson brought the Kreuser bill issue to the attention of the Council. <br />He said. that Les Derr advise. the Council not to pay the bill, since Mr. Kreuser <br />was not authorized. to do the work by the Village~ The Council decided that there <br />should be a meeting with Mr. Kreuser before Council members make a ciecision on <br />the bill. <br /> <br />After a d.iscussion with Les Derr, Joe De Marais' building permit applications <br />was referred to the Planning Commission for their recommendation. <br /> <br />It was reported to the Council that the new dump man, Gary Knadjk had resigned <br />as the dump attendent to accept another job. The cour~cil instructed the village <br />Clerk to place an ad in the local paper. to find a replacement. <br /> <br />No further, business, the meeting adjourned.
