Members were present as follo~:.I3: Uayor <br />Bartelt, Councilmen Hudson, Syring, VJ.cheau and Konop. <br /> <br />Discl1ssion fOl19wed,on the verbal ~esignation o~ Earl Hohlen as Cpief of Police. <br /> <br />". - I <br />VAgreeable.that'the polic phones st'lould be removed from'the police. officers <br />residences as soon as possible. <br />'I \. <br /> <br />Agreeable to ha.ye Jim Sorenson attend our next m~eting to explain a radio phone <br />in the police car. ' <br /> <br />Hohlen should submit a 1iritten letter of resignation. Mayor Bartelt will draw <br />up a shift schedule for the existing" police officers and the clerk was instructed <br />to advertise fpr a Chief of Police after a letter of resignation is received <br />fro:n Mr. Hohlen. <br /> <br />Earl Hohlen appeared and advised that he is resigning by reason that Police <br />Offiper DeRosier is ~ in~ubordinate, will not take orders, passes out <br />confidential information and that the Police Chief does not have the power to <br />hire or discharge employees under his jurisdiction. A letter of re~ignation <br />will be submitted to be effective immediately. <br /> <br />After considerable discussion, moved by Councilman Konop and seconded by Council- <br />man Micheau, to ac~ept ;the resignation of Earl Hoy-Ien as Village Police Chief. <br />Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />}myor Bartelt will meet with Police Office DeRosier and part time Patrolmen <br />Richner a;nd Vall Patten following this special meeting to arrange shift scheduling <br />and set forth rules and regulations that the Polke Department are to adhere to, <br /> <br />No further business, the pleeting adjommed. <br /> <br />
